Projects supported within this priority aim to support and raise awareness about the right to equal treatment and non-discrimination.
Projects include the following areas of support: information campaign about the right to equal treatment and non-discrimination, elimination of stereotypes, xenophobia and social prejudices, implementation of anti-discrimination legislation, media campaigns, gender equality-promoting programmes, interdisciplinary approaches towards advocacy of equal treatment measures.

Brief Description:
The project aims to broaden legal knowledge of visually-impaired individuals concerning their right to equal treatment. We also aim to increase the capacity of our Centre to provide legal assistance.
Aims:
- To raise the awareness among the public on the right to equal treatment of visually-impaired
- To organise workshops of legal self-defence for visually-impaired individuals
- To raise the awareness among the visually-impaired on their right to equal treatment
- To provide qualified assistance and advice

The aim of the project is improve professional konwledge of young students of journalism and law in the anti-discrimination field.
Aims:
- To organise anti-discrimination workshops for law and journalism students led by experienced supervisors
- To prepare the participants for future career in the anti-discrimination field
- To create new networks among professionals working in the anti-discrimination field
- To enlarge existing sources of information concerning anti-discrimination

Drawing from our experience in dealing with victims of domestic violence, this project aims to safeguard the right to equal treatment and gender non-discrimination.

- To raise the awareness of the issue among young individuals

- To disseminate information concerning the right to equal treatment
- To launch an extensive PR campaign

The project aims to examine the forms of social support and social care available for physically handicapped individuals. The project examines their social rights, too.
Aims:
- To demonstrate examples of good practices in the field of social support for the physically disadvantaged.
- To raise the awareness among responsible activists and officials on the ways of successful social integration of physically disadvantaged individuals
- To advise on employment issues
- To organise seminars and workshops
- To make use of visual and printed aids like movies, videos, or brochures

THE WAY TO THE SAME SEX PARTNERSHIP LAW

Brief Description:
The project is a part of many initiatives we plan for the Year of Equal Opportunities to All (2007). It aims to stir a public debate on the possibilities to introduce Same Sex Partnership Law.
Aims:
- To disseminate information concerning the lives of gays and lesbians in order to prepare the ground for the Same Sex Partnership Law
- To prepare a radio-web-banner-poster campaign
- To organise exhibitions and theatre plays
- To provide the public with real-life experiences from other countries where a similar legislation is already in force
- To conduct barometers in order to examine public opinion

- To prepare a workbook for non-governmental activists based on the results of the research

The concept of gender equality is one of the most misunderstood concepts in the field of human rights. Yet its successful implementation is the key to effective non-discrimination.

- To raise the awareness about the issue of gender equality
- To contribute to successful implementation of the concept of gender equality
- To prepare gender equality workshops
- To incorporate the concept of gender equality into the Human Rights curriculum

The primary aim of the project is to improve the access to high-quality education for socially-disadvantaged pupils – the most striking problem of the Slovak educational system.
Aims:
- To analyse relevant legislation and its impact on socially-disadvantaged pupils
- To monitor the implementation of the Educational reform
- To offer effective assistance to teachers, pupils, and parents
- To provide drafters of the Reform with a comprehensive feedback
- To identify possibilities for an improved access to high-quality education for socially-disadvantaged individuals

The project aims to encourage equal treatment and equal access to basic human and civil rights for individuals who are mentally challenged. The aim is to completely eliminate their discrimination.
Aims:
- To raise the awareness about non-discriminatory legal tools available to mentally-challenged individuals, their parents and guardians
- To help develop key skills mentally-challenged individuals need
- To improve the capacity of parents, legal guardians, or relevant activists to help mentally-challenged people
- To stir a public discussion on the possibilities of social inclusion of people with mental disabilities
- To initiate a much-needed reform of relevant legislation
- To provide legal advice
